Notes

Very focussed and linear wine in its youth, it is just starting to develop and offer more open drinking now. Aromas of dark, bitter cherry combine with an earthy note and the classic salami skin savoury quality of Barbera. Full, very ripe and concentrated on the palate with the focus again being the dark cherry notes. Striking acidity makes for a very succulent feel. Long finish . Tight quite 'athletic' in feel.

Details

Araldica is Piemonte's largest and most progressive co-operative yet retains a small, family run company feel,. 80% of production is bottled at the company's headquarters in the Monferrato hills, home of the old cellars and a new winery, operating since September 2000. This is complimented by two estates, each with it's own vinification cellars, La Battistina in Gavi (where Araldica is the region's largest vineyard owner) and Il Cascinone.
